£6.40 per hour

WHAT are the HOURS?

Monday to Friday shifts between 7.30am and 6pm.

 

WHAT Qualification will I GAIN?               Early Years Practitioner Level 2

How LONG will it TAKE me?                       16 months

WHAT will I LEARN about?

·         Exploring roles and opportunities

·         Supporting SEN or disabilities

·         Supporting effective communication

·         Supporting health and safety

·         Child development up to 7 years

·         Working with parents and professionals

·         Supporting activities and educational programmes

·         Promoting wellbeing

·         Safeguarding young children

 

 

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

·         1-2-1 meeting once a month with your Tutor (2-3 hours) via Teams (you’ll learn part of 1 module)

·         You will not attend college for one day a week!

·         6 hours of your working week will be spent on apprenticeship work, this includes:

o   (assignments, independent study, training & development activities)

·         These hours will be agreed with your manager, either split across the throughout the week, or on a set day

·         After 6 months, you’ll start preparing for your End Point Assessment (EPA) doing mocks of:

o   multiple choice tests, presentations of your work and Q&A’s

·         With CT Skills, you’ll get lots of 1-2-1 support from application until the completion of your apprenticeship!

We are a family-run business with a passion to provide exceptional childcare within a home from home setting. We started Little Toes Day Nursery West Bridgford in February 2017, starting out as a Creche service providing short sessional childcare for the nearby health facilities before becoming Ofsted registered in August 2017.

Our nurseries offer safe, nurturing surroundings for children aged from 6 weeks through to 5 years. Inspired by the work of Anna Ephgrave’ focusing highly on the children learning through play, children take the lead in their learning in our homely settings.

DAY to DAY, you will….

  • Contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of the children.
  • Record children’s learning and development journeys, and communicate these with parents, carers, and other key adults.
  • Be actively engage in great team working.
  • Liaise with and support parents, carers, and other family members.
  • Participate in the high-quality care and supervision of all children.
  • Attend activities that are out of working hours (e.g. staff meetings, training, and events etc.)
  • Be flexible and to be prepared to help where needed (including domestic jobs e.g. preparing meals, and cleaning toys etc.)
  • Follow the ethos of the nursery, creating a warm and friendly environment.
  • Work alongside the Nursery Owner, Nursery Manager, and staff team.
  • Ensure that EYFS is promoted efficiently and that its policies are followed correctly.
  • Ensure great customer service.
  • Help with the smooth running of the Nursery.
  • Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Nursery Owner/Nursery Manager.

WHAT Skills do I NEED?

Apprenticeships are very demanding; you’re working towards a qualification whilst working full time! You’ll need to be committed and motivated as there is lots of self-guided work involved. PLUS, you need GOOD …..

 

                     Good team working skills

                     Basic knowledge of health and safety

                     Positive Attitude

                     Basic knowledge of safeguarding

                     Energetic

 

 

 

ANYTHING ELSE?

·         GCSE or equivalent English and Maths grade 4/C or above

·         UK Residency (MUST have lived in the UK for 3 years+)

·         Childcare experience e.g., babysitting, taking care of younger family members.

What AFTER the Apprenticeship?
