Britain has an ageing population – people aged over 64 are expected to grow to 15 million by 2040. This means more people will live with serious chronic illnesses and will require end-of-life care. The problems faced and support needed by people nearing the end of life are wide-ranging. A good understanding of pain management, support, and quality of life will help all who are caring for others personally or in a work environment.
