WHO are Drayton Medical Practice?

Drayton Medical Practice is based in the centre of Market Drayton. They are a large and busy practice with approximately 18,000 registered patients and they strive to provide the very best service to all patients and stakeholders.

You will be made to feel very welcome and will be part of a friendly, supportive team who will assist your development and training. The immediate team consists of 8, with an overall Practice team of 50.

WHAT will I get from working with Drayton Medical Practice?

• EARN: £7.55 per hour, 37 hours per week
• EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm
• QUALIFICATION: Business Admin Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

Your role will be varied, with your core tasks split across 2 key areas; Reception (supporting the existing Reception team) and Pharmacy Administration (specifically supporting the team that administers prescriptions). Your daily tasks will include:

• Handling post & calls.
• Meeting & greeting Patients.
• Dealing with Patients’ enquiries.
• Making appointments.
• Pharmacy Team Administration; handling & managing prescriptions etc.
• Scanning, data entry & emails.
• Dealing with external stakeholders – via email & telephone.
• Other ad hoc admin duties.
• Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Business Admin Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about the modules. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

• Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
• UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Communication, customer care & team working.
• IT, admin & number skills.
• Attention to detail & organisation.
• Problem solving, initiative & non-judgemental.
