WHO are Board24?

Board24 is the largest independent sheet feeder in the UK and manufactures corrugated board at three sites – Coalville, Preston and Eurocentral.

You will be joining a successful and established team with plenty of opportunities for progression once you have completed your apprenticeship. Board24 have previously supported apprentices who have continued learning and developing in their careers!

WHAT will I get from working with Board24?

  • EARN: £19,500 per year, 37.5 hours per week
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
  • QUALIFICATION: Business Administration Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

You will work closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager and site teams, supporting operational improvement projects across production and support departments, gaining hands-on experience in applying Continuous Improvement (CI) tools (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and others) to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.

Day to day you will:

  • Support projects aimed at reducing downtime, increasing throughput, and improving quality
  • Assist with process mapping, time studies, and root cause analysis of production inefficiencies
  • Participate in shop floor observations, data collection, and problem-solving workshops
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Help track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Document standard operating procedures and assist in developing visual management tools
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement tools
  • Contribute to health, safety, and quality initiatives through improved process design
  • Assist with training materials or improvement documentation for operators and team leaders

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Business Administration Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including

  • IT, Record and document production
  • Communication & Interpersonal skills
  • Organisational Structure
  • Stakeholders
  • Legislation & Regulation
  • Project Management, Planning and organisation

You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • IT Skills – Ms Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Strong Communication, willingness to engage with production teams
  • Attention to detail, with a problem solving mindset
  • Positive attitude, proactive approach and a keenness to learn
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, engineering, or process improvement
