WHO are Nottingham Nursery School?

Nottingham Nursery School offers childcare for children from the age of 2 to 4 years old. They have a child focused, organised and attractive setting that provides a stimulating environment and a supportive community for both the children and their families. They also have a fabulous outdoor space, including a well-established Forest Garden.

You will be joining a positive, supportive and dedicated team that will share their knowledge, and skills help with your apprenticeship. There will be excellent opportunities for professional development.

WHAT will I get from working with Nottingham Nursery School?

  • EARN: £12.26 per hour, 37 hours per week
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4pm.
  • QUALIFICATION: Early Years Educator Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This is an exciting opportunity for you to provide high quality education for the all-important early years! If you already have your Level 2 in Early Years and are looking to progress, this is the perfect choice! Your daily tasks will include:

  • Breakfast club and set up
  • Registration session
  • Child initiated learning
  • Lunch duty
  • Outdoor play
  • Free flow and taught carpet sessions
  • After school club
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including risk management, key person & attachment, learning & development, and more!  You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • Communication, team working & customer care.
  • Logical, attention to detail & initiative.
  • Organisation, problem solving & presentation skills.
  • Admin & number skills.
  • Problem solving, patience & non-judgmental.

What happens next?
