WHAT will I get from working with Marcegaglia Stainless Sheffield?

  • EARN: £21,500-£25,500 per annum (dependent on age), 37.5 hours per week.
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (flexible).
  • QUALIFICATION: Payroll Admin Level 3 takes approximately 16 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business with over 400 employees. You will undertake required payroll activities within your team to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees, assist the Team Lead and Payroll Specialist with day-to-day payroll activities, and support the wider HR team. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Timekeeping responsibilities for approx. 270 employees using a time management system whilst following multiple rota patterns and local pay agreements.
  • Data maintenance on time management system including employee data, holiday entitlements, rota schedules and access controls.
  • Calculating and processing accurate payroll amounts for overtime, temporary promotions and absences using local agreements.
  • Calculating and processing SSP and company sick pay using statutory and local agreements.
  • Gathering and providing statistical data for payroll team lead and or managers.
  • Handling pay enquiries from employees, managers and HR.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc administration tasks to ensure accurate data records.
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Payroll Admin Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about the modules. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English.
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
  • Very high level of accuracy whilst working towards deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to maintain & ensure confidentiality of all aspects of employee’s data.
  • Ability to work independently & as part of a team.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to launch a career in Sales and administration. You’ll work closely with both the sales and operations teams, learning the ropes of client communication, CRM management, and daily office administration while earning hands-on experience and support toward your qualification. Your daily tasks will include:
