Each programme combines practical workplace experience with structured training, including masterclasses, workshops, 1:1 support and learning resources focused on early years practice. Learners develop knowledge across areas such as safeguarding, child development, attachment, learning and development, inclusive practice and supporting children’s wellbeing.

I’ve completed my Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner course, which has greatly strengthened my leadership skills and supported my career progression.
Completing my Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship has been an amazing experience. My assessor has been incredibly supportive, offering clear guidance and thorough help with all my units.

WHO are Little Toes Day Nursery?
Little Toes are a family-run business with a passion to provide exceptional childcare within a home from home setting. Their nurseries offer safe, nurturing surroundings for children aged from 6 weeks through to 5 years. Inspired by the work of Anna Ephgrave’ focusing highly on the children learning through play, children take the lead in their learning in their homely settings.
WHAT will I get from working with Little Toes Day Nursery?
- EARN: £8 per hour, 40 hours per week
- EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday – shifts between 7.30am to 6.30pm
- QUALIFICATION: Early Years Educator Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.
WHAT will my DAY look like?
You will gain real life experience in looking after young people whilst developing your knowledge of child development and safeguarding! This apprenticeship will give you the chance to see young children take their first steps, speak their first words, and support them as they prepare to start school. Your daily tasks will include:
- Contributing to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of the children.
- Recording children’s learning and development journeys, and communicating these with parents, carers, and other key adults.
- Liaising with and supporting parents, carers, and other family members.
- Attending activities that are out of working hours (e.g. staff meetings, training, and events etc.)
- Being flexible and prepared to help where needed (including domestic jobs e.g. preparing meals, and cleaning toys etc.)
- Ensuring that EYFS is promoted efficiently and that its policies are followed correctly.
- Helping with the smooth running of the Nursery.
- Reading, understanding, and adhering to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Nursery Owner/Nursery Manager.
- Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.
HOW does the Apprenticeship work?
Working towards your Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including risk management, key person & attachment, learning & development, and more! You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.
WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?
- Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English.
- UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
- Early Years Practitioner Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.t
- Good team working skills.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety.
- Positive Attitude.
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding.
- Energetic.
