Each programme combines practical workplace experience with structured training, including masterclasses, workshops, 1:1 support and learning resources focused on early years practice. WHO are Mini Adventures Pre-School?

Mini Adventures pre-school provides high quality childcare in a safe and happy environment. They encourage children, through play activities, to learn and develop at their own pace. They offer a wide range of challenging and stimulating experiences through which they can achieve this.

WHAT will I get from working with Mini Adventures Pre-School?

  • EARN: £8 per hour, 30 hours per week.
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
  • QUALIFICATION: Early Years Practitioner Level 2 takes approximately 16 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

You’ll be responsible for providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children in the provision, and work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn. You’ll build and maintain a strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the provision are met (in conjunction with other team members).
  • Keeping records of key children’s developments and learning journeys and share with parents, carers, and other key adults in the child’s life.
  • Developing and maintaining strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day to day caring and early learning needs.
  • Ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.
  • Advising manager/deputy of any concerns, e.g., regarding children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
  • Being involved in out-of-working hours activities, e.g., training, staff meetings, summer fayres etc.
  • Being flexible within working practices of the provision, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snacks/meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
  • Developing your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key person.
  • Being aware of the high profile of the provision and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside.
  • Undertaking and leading on additional responsibilities such as SENCO, training coordinator, safeguarding officer etc.
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship Work?

Working towards your Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including child development from birth to 7 years, safeguarding, promoting wellbeing, supporting activities, purposeful play & educational programmes, and more!  You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English.
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
  • Communication, team working & relationship building.
  • Confidentiality, empathy, patience & non-judgemental.
  • Organisation, creativity & problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use initiative & think logically.

WHO are Hine Park Day Nursery?

Hine Park Day Nursery are an Ofsted approved day nursery that provides care for children from the age of 8 weeks up to 10 years old. Their services include school pick up and after care for our neighbouring school Falcons Primary.

You will be joining a team of passionate and experienced Early Years Educators that work together parents and carers to give children the best start possible in their lifelong journey of learning and discovery.

WHAT will I get from working with Hine Park Day Nursery?

  • EARN: £8 per hour, 40 hours per week
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm (term time only).
  • QUALIFICATION: Early Years Practitioner Level 2 takes approximately 16 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

You will be supporting with providing a high standard of care to the children. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a role model and help children take their first steps! Your daily tasks will include:

  • Keeping records of your key children’s development and learning journeys.
  • Developing and maintaining strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers.

WHO are St Joseph’s School & Nursery?

St Joseph’s offers a Nursery education full of wonder and excitement and with so much to see and do, the children soon develop a love of learning about the world around them. In addition to all the activities and toys available in the rooms, the children visit the school library, take part in PE, have French lessons, cook, go on walks to see some of the City’s local attractions, they even manage to squeeze in some IT! Dance lessons are also available as part of the curriculum through ‘Rattle and Roll’, a local provider and the children are regularly integrated into school life through our weekly achievement assemblies.

The Nursery is attached to the main school and welcomes all children from 1 to 5 years old. It is open 51 weeks of the year from 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday) and separated into 3 distinctive rooms - Rainbow Room, Sunflower Room and Pre-Prep.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

St Joseph’s are a hidden gem in the busy city centre and want you to join their team to give young children the best start in their early lives.   • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
