In many cases, yes. Most apprenticeships lead to a job within the company you trained with. If not, you’ll still have a recognised qualification and valuable experience to support your next step.

If you’re struggling or need more time, speak with your trainer assessor and employer. Extensions can sometimes be arranged to delay your End Point Assessment (EPA) / apprenticeship assessment.

Shanklin Day Nursery and Pre-school in Stoneygate, Leicester is a small, family run day nursery. They have been established since 1994 and provide a loving, stimulating and educational environment for children aged 0-5 years.

Their experienced and highly qualified staff ensure that every day is fun, interesting, and rewarding at Shanklin Day Nursery.

WHAT will I get from working with Shanklin Day Nursery?

  • EARN: £7.75 per hour, 40 hours per week
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday shifts between 7.30am and 6pm.
  • QUALIFICATION: Early Years Educator Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This is an exciting opportunity for you to kick-start your career in childcare. You will be joining a friendly team and supporting with the care and education of young children. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Providing a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment.
  • Delivering an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
  • Helping to ensure the preschool nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
  • Understanding and working to preschool nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints, and emergencies.
  • Planning activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes.
  • Ensuring records are properly maintained, e.g., daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments.
  • Liaising closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.
  • Working in partnership with senior management to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the preschool aims and objectives.
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including risk management, key person & attachment, learning & development, and more!  You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • Communication & team working.
  • Logical, organisation & initiative.
  • Creativity, problem solving, non-judgemental & patience.

WHAT will I get from working with Skribes Commercial Inventory Specialists?

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This is not your usual admin job!! This is NOT an office job!

You will be visiting City Centre and West Midlands properties and inputting data to produce a range of property reports for Letting Agents and Landlords. Most properties will be empty/vacant apartments and houses however some may have tenants/landlords present.

You will be on your feet all day, walking around the City Centre between properties or using public transport to visit agents and properties in the surrounding areas. It is a very active and physically demanding role. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Collecting and returning keys to Lettings Agents.
  • Producing highly detailed property reports by inputting relevant property data into handheld mobile devices that contain accurate description and supporting photographs.
  • Obtaining all property meter readings (gas, electric and water) for the day’s reports.
  • Using own judgement to make sensible decisions regarding actions required during property inspections.
  • Checking own reports for accuracy and quality.
  • Completing all reports within agreed timescales.
  • Meeting Tenants or Landlords at properties occasionally.
  • Strengthening Customer relations through regular professional communication regarding property inspections face to face, by mobile and email.
  • Always ensuring an excellent Customer experience.
  • Resolving any customer service issues or queries from Customers.
  • Maintaining regular and consistent attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence of relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Business Admin Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including the organisation, stakeholders, relevant regulation, business fundamentals, processes & external factors. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • You have a keen eye for detail and always seem to know when something is not quite as it should be. You leave no stone unturned.
  • Methodical and logical in your approach to work.
  • Excellent use of judgement to consider available information and come to logical, sensible conclusions.
  • You have the ability to capture & relay information accurately.
  • You are active, proactive, detail orientated & articulate.
  • You enjoy working on your own 90% of the time as well as part of a team.
  • You have a great attitude, strong interpersonal skills and drive.
  • You have a great strong desire learn and develop new skills.
  • Self- motivated with a positive mind-set.
  • T literate and tech savvy, with a fast-typing ability.
  • Able to stay calm and focused under pressure.
  • Polite and professional.

WHO are Move Now Properties?

This is a family company that is currently expanding. They offer property sales, property lettings and holiday let services. One of the company’s longest-standing traditions is working with the local communities and their projects. The team raise money throughout the year for various charities – from coffee mornings to team days out – to bring awareness to local and national causes.

You will be joining a small, friendly team in a relaxed but professional environment. Everyone works together and supports each other and there will be in house training for any suitable applicants. They have a history of supporting apprentices and offering permanent roles with a keenness to recruit and develop talent!

WHAT will I get from working with Move Now Properties?

  • EARN: £8 per hour, 37.5 hours per week
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Mon, Wed, Thurs & Fri 9am to 6pm, Saturdays 10am to 2pm
  • QUALIFICATION: Housing & Property Management Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

You will be joining a welcoming team and gaining valuable knowledge and experience to start your career in the Housing sector. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Organising viewings for properties for Sale/Let.
  • Managing queries with relation to tenancy inspections.
  • Writing brochures for property adverts.
  • Administering minor works, routine maintenance contracts & various H&S reports.
  • Obtaining quotations from contractors and quotes for clients.
  • Instructing and liaising with contractors.
  • Actioning works & report on the findings of reactive and planned maintenance.
  • Dealing with property owners, lettings managers and tenants’ queries verbally and in written form.
  • Updating the company knowledge-based systems & prepare quotes.
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship Work?

Working towards your Housing & Property Management Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including decision making & collaborative working, housing legislation, tenancy types, and more!  You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • Driving License and access to a vehicle are required as you will need to travel in this role.
  • Communication, team working & customer care.
  • IT, organisation & presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail, initiative & administrative.
  • Some office/admin experience and an expressed interest in the housing sector.
