Overview
Delivered over 23 months, this apprenticeship prepares learners to take an operational lead in early years environments, guiding and supporting other practitioners while ensuring high-quality provision. Apprentices will develop expertise in leading daily routines, promoting best practices in observation, assessment, and planning, and ensuring full compliance with safeguarding legislation and local policies.

EPA / Apprenticeship Assessment
- Observation with questions
- Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
- Apprentices can also work towards Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English, if not already exempt
The Apprenticeship Covers
- Taking the lead and providing support in disseminating best practice in the use of observation, assessments, and planning
- Participating in and leading daily routines and practice
- Ensuring full compliance with all safeguarding legislation, benefits policies, and strategies at a national, local, and setting based level
