Business Admin Apprentice @ WTJ Insurance Brokers

Location: 556 Leeds Road, Outwood, Wakefield, WF1 2DX

Customers are assigned a designated contact from one of their 40+ staff members, ensuring they receive a consistent service and a policy to suit their requirements.

WHAT will I get from working with WTJ Insurance Brokers?

  • EARN: £14,800 per year, 37.5 hours per week.
  • EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
  • QUALIFICATION: Business Admin Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a reputable insurance company as a junior account handler. You will be involved in learning about the different types of Insurance and Policies associated with this. They have their own in house Claims team and Accounts department so there is plenty of opportunity for you to grow. Alongside the apprenticeship, you will gain valuable experience in the insurance industry with plenty of opportunities for progression and experience in different departments.  Your daily tasks will include:

  • Gathering information from clients to assess their insurance needs and risk.
  • Researching insurance policies.
  • Arranging insurance cover for clients.
  • Renewing or changing existing policies.
  • Makin sure all business and paperwork meet requirements.
  • Using IT systems to keep records and prepare documents.
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Business Admin Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including the organisation, stakeholders, relevant regulation, business fundamentals, processes & external factors. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
  • UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • A Business Studies related course would be useful but not required.
  • IT skills, including Word & Excel.
  • Attention to detail, ability to use initiative and good verbal communication
