New Apprenticeship Incentives

The apprenticeship incentives are designed to support organisations looking to hire an apprentice in a new role and are ending in September 2021.

Since the apprenticeship incentives were first announced 18,670 apprentices have been hired using the apprenticeship incentive scheme across the United Kingdom.

Employers can expect to receive up to £3,000 per new apprentice paid in two equal instalments of 50%. One instalment will be paid after the apprentice completes 90 days of their apprenticeship and the remaining 50% after 365 days. These incentives and payments will be administered through an employers Digital Apprenticeship Service.

This incentive is in addition to the £1,000 employers already receive for hiring an apprentice:

• Aged 16 to 18 years old
• Under 25 with an education, health & care plan or who has been in the care of their Local Authority.

We spoke with Crystal at ALB Group who have utilised the apprenticeship incentives to create three new positions within their organisations on her experience with CT Skills and the apprenticeship incentives.
