During National Careers Week 2020, CT Skills met with a variety of previous learners who are now on a career ladder to success after completing a course with us.
On day two of the week, we spent time with Molly Prime, 18, who was now in her dream career after finishing an apprenticeship with CT Skills. When we first heard from Molly, she had just left school and was unsure what she wanted to do with her future.
Molly explains; “I had just left school and had sat my GCSE’s, I was going to go to college and then at the last minute I decided against it. I thought about what I wanted out of my future and after completing work experience with a local nursery, I knew I wanted to work with children.”
Molly didn’t want to waste any more time and began looking at her options online; this is when she came across a Childcare Apprenticeship with CT Skills which offered a recognised qualification and a full time salary within a childcare setting.
She continued; “I immediately applied and was successfully put forward for an interview by CT Skills. After I attended the interview, I was offered the role and was thrilled to be joining the team at Kids Corner Nursery in Leicester.”
Over the next 18 months, CT Skills worked with Molly to ensure she successfully completed the Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship.
Molly said; “I really enjoyed the apprenticeship, my tutor Becky was great and I always felt she was very understanding and caring. I would highly recommend an apprenticeship with CT Skills because it taught me so much about the real world.”
Within 18 months, Molly completed the apprenticeship with CT Skills and was promoted in her role at Kids Corner Nursery to Room Leader, where she mainly focused on looking after the under 2 year olds, planning the play each day and building a relationship with both the parents and the children.
Molly comments; “Thanks to CT Skills, I am in my chosen career and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me. I would love to continue working at Kids Corner Nursery and grow here as I have a great relationship with my colleagues.”
Molly’s drive and determination saw her beat over 100 other CT Skills apprentices to be shortlisted as a Finalist in the CT Skills Made in the Midlands Apprenticeship Awards 2020.
She concludes; “It felt really good to be shortlisted for a Made in the Midlands Award. I didn’t expect it at all so I am honoured to even be considered. I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship with CT Skills as they have helped me with my career.”
