About Employer:

MPQC is a not for profit organisation and is looking for a versatile Apprentice to join their offices based in Eastwood. The successful applicant will support the MPQC team with their ongoing work in the quarrying, mineral products, and mining sector.

Vacancy Description:

The Apprentice will gain general knowledge and skills in an administration environment, as well as role-specific responsibilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  •  Develop a strong working knowledge of our bespoke software (NEXUS)
  •  Support with the administration of the Mineral Matters initiative
  •  Support with the Industry Simulators
  •  Support with the onsite electronic resources
  •  IT troubleshooting
  •  Provide support writing process guidance notes
  •  Support with MPQC ‘s social media outreach
  •  Attend business meetings as required
  •  Prepare documents
  •  Support MPQC events
  •  Support visitors accessing MPQC’s WIFI information

Desired qualifications and experience:

GCSE’s to include English and Maths at Grade  A* - C/4-9 or equivalent

Training and  Qualifications Given:

Level 2 Business Administration

Level 1 or 2 Functional Skills English (If required)

Level 1 or 2 Functions Skills Maths (If required)

Level 1 or 2 Functions Skills ICT (if required)

Working Week and Salary:

Monday - Friday between the hours of 8.30am - 5pm

Total hours per week: 37.5

Hourly Wage: £4.10

Weekly Wage: £157.75

*With the intention to increase the wage following the successful completion of the Apprentices 3-month probationary period.*

Future Prospects:

The successful candidate may have the opportunity to secure a permanent position and progress further within the business.
