Job Title: Apprentice Mortgage Administrator

Apprenticeship Qualification: Business Administration Level 3

  • Pay Rate: £4.81 per hour
  • Working Hours: Between 9.30am to 4.30pm (specific hours to be agreed)
  • Mon-Fri: 30 hours per week
  • Parking available

Apprenticeship Duration: 19 months

Being able to give ‘Whole of Market’ Mortgage Advice simply means that as a mortgage advisor you have access to a wide range of banks, building societies and insurers in the UK. However, just because a mortgage advisor has access to the Whole of Market, doesn’t mean that they necessarily have the right knowledge or expertise to be able to give you the right Mortgage Advice and therefore the best products. This is where Finance Advice Centre is very different. Our advisors are all trained with specialist complex cases in mind. No matter how challenging your situation, if there’s a solution we’ll do everything we can to find it for you!

The Job:

  • Directly supporting a fully qualified Mortgage Advisors, you will provide very much needed assistance in terms of  Sales, Customer Services, Administration and Compliance
  • You will need to work independently, very much on your own initiative, and with little supervision


  • Submitting applications to lenders and insurance companies on behalf of Mortgage Advisors
  • Completing Finance applications online on behalf of Mortgage Advisors
  • Inputting various information on to an in house CRM system
  • Contacting clients via phone and email
  • Chasing documentation, to include forms of ID, proof of address, copies of bank statements, payslips etc. often to deadlines, under pressure
  • Filing, scanning and photocopying
  • You will be provided with a PC, and will be expected to use your own mobile phone for managing calls – an app will be installed and use, at no cost to you

And you’ll need to have/be able to: 

  • GCSE A* to C in English and ideally Maths – MUST have ENGLISH
  • Some administrative / customer services experience would be hugely beneficial

Skills Required:

  • Competent in using Microsoft Packages
  • Confidence when speaking to people over the telephone and face to face
  • Good organisational skills
  • To be able to prioritise workloads
  • Good written communication skills
  • Attention to detail! You’re dealing with hugely important information – people’s mortgage applications are literally, in your hands! One wrong number, digit, and the application could be cancelled straight away
  • Confidentiality –  you must recognise the importance of discretion, and actively work to GDPR guidelines

Training and Qualifications Offered: 

  • Level 3 Business Admin OR Level 2 Customer Services
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English (If required)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills Maths (If required)

Interview Process:

 Interviews will be held at Finance Advice Centre’s Nottingham offices in Basford, by the recruiting Mortgage Advisor.

Short listed candidates will be given a full interview briefing, and instruction of any task and/or preparation required.

 Future Prospects:

Great opportunity to start your career, and, upon completion of your Apprenticeship, you may have the prospect of moving forward towards a qualification in mortgage advice.
