About The Employer:

The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton.  The MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one pre-school; with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.

Melton Mowbray is a rural market town in Leicestershire which is easily commutable from Grantham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham.

The MET has a central support services team, with staff managing Estates, Finance, HR, IT and Operations, across our schools.  The central team are based at offices within John Ferneley College in Melton Mowbray.

About the Team:            

The HR Team currently consists of a HR Manager and HR Officer, we employ approximately 400 staff across the Trust.

About the Role:

You will provide a professional, efficient, and effective HR administration service across the Trust in accordance with policies and procedures.

You will be Responsible for:

  • Assisting with the preparation of job adverts, job descriptions and personnel specifications
  • Creating offer packs, contracts of employments, change to contract letters & leaver letters
  • Administering all new starter paperwork e.g. pre-employment checks, and references
  • Data input of new starter employment details onto HR database – Ensure the Central Register and recruitment trackers are all maintained and accurate
  • Inputting weekly absences onto the payroll system
  • Supporting the HR Manager and HR Officer in accurately inputting and checking monthly payroll
  • Ensuring all Right to work details are up to date and meet UKVI regulations
  • Helping to manage the HR and Recruitment inbox
  • Responding and advise on basic HR issues including maternity, sickness and general HR queries
  • Ensuring all personnel files are set up and kept up to date
  • Ensuring maintenance of employee records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assisting with general copying, filing, archiving of documents as required
  • Be the first point of contact in a polite and upbeat manner for the main HR telephone number
  • Providing a high level of customer service
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects as and when required

You will need to have:

  • Good communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good level of IT skills across all Microsoft Office programmes
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a confidential environment
  • Good interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE – Grade 4 (grade C) or above, in English and Maths or equivalent
