WHAT are the HOURS?

Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

 

WHAT Qualification will I GAIN?               AAT Level 2

How LONG will it TAKE me?                       15 months

WHAT will I LEARN about?

·         Introduction to bookkeeping

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

·         Delivered on a modular basis, so the qualification is broken down and easier to manage than an A-Level or degree.

o   After each module, you will sit an exam (online) to ensure you have understood.

·         You will not attend college for one day a week!

·         6 hours of your working week will be spent on apprenticeship work, this includes:

o   (assignments, independent study, training & development activities)

·         These hours will be agreed with your manager, either split across the throughout the week, or on a set day

·         We will provide you with an extensive portfolio of tools and resources to support your learning. These include:

1.       One to one Coaching with a Dedicated Skills Coach who will support you with your working skills and behaviours such as communication and problem solving (CT Skills)

2.       The dedicated coach will support you with active learning and reviews on a monthly basis and also support with off the job training, this is linked to not only the course but your own work setting, allowing you learn and develop in your role.

3.       One to one Sessions with a Dedicated AAT Tutor who will go through the curriculum with you and ensure that you have the knowledge required (CT Skills)

4.       Group Webinars (CT Skills)

5.       Interactive online Enhanced Classrooms which you will use for your independent learning (Self-study system);

o   Recorded by expert BPP tutors and qualified Accountants.

o   Covers the entire syllabus and follows the BPP materials.

o   Provides an Introduction to each paper, series of Lectures and steps to support you.

6.       BPP Hub-Dashboard; giving you a snapshot of time/progress, and the ability to control activities.

·         With CT Skills, you’ll get lots of 1-2-1 support from application until the completion of your apprenticeship!

WHAT’S in it for ME?

You will join our small team of 7 which includes 2 members who started as AAT apprentices and now manage their own areas of work. They will be happy to give extra support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship. Employers also take the team for lunch once a month, and organise quarterly team events such as meals, bowling, and other team activities.

DAY to DAY, you will….

·         Reviewing and assessing claims to determine their validity.

·         Preparation of claim including relevant tax calculations.

·         Liaising with clients to ensure we have all the information needed.

·         Monitoring the progress of the claim and liaising with HMRC to ensure a successful and prompt outcome for the client.

·         Contacting existing clients for repeat claims.

WHAT Skills do I NEED?

Apprenticeships are very demanding; you’re working towards a qualification whilst working full time! You’ll need to be committed and motivated as there is lots of self-guided work involved. PLUS, you need GOOD …..

ANYTHING ELSE?

·         GCSE or equivalent English and Maths grade 4/C or above

·         UK Residency (MUST have lived in the UK for 3 years+)

·         Some office/admin experience
