About the Team:            

Finance team of four, with a wider finance team involving the Credit Control team of seven.  All of the team is based at the Coventry address.

About the Role:

Through active supplier account management, you will pay invoices in a timely manner and manage the aged creditors profile. Reporting into and receiving daily support from the Accounts Payable Supervisor who has full end to end ownership on a mixed currency purchase ledger.

And Day to Day? …. You will be Responsible for:

Accounts Payable

  • Checking that all invoices match the purchase order before passing for approval for payment
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements and resolution of issues
  • Preparing payment runs, making sure all additional details are accurate for international payments
  • Communicating with suppliers & internal staff on payment or invoice-related queries
  • Checking and approving VAT & Duty invoices relating to import of goods
  • Filing all AP invoices and maintaining organised and up-to-date filing systems for various accounting functions
  • Ensuring accurate month-end close of the AP ledger, including posting of accruals

Bank Reconciliations

  • Reconciling multiple currency supplier accounts
  • Reporting any discrepancies on the accounts and resolving
  • Journal entries
  • Balance bank reconciliation to general ledger for Month

Reporting

  • Weekly/Monthly supplier payments forecasting
  • Produce & distribute monthly creditor reports including DCO, Amount and % Overdue, Invoice aging

Business Support / System Enhancement

  • Continually looking at ways of improving policies and procedures including working closely with internal departments, looking at ways to improve the Accounts Payable & Banking processes & controls

  • Can-do attitude, open to change and new ways/approaches of working
  • A highly organised and proactive approach to work, supporting the team when required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills including intermediate Excel
  • Working towards AAT qualification

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE – English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
