About The Employer:              

We are a small GP surgery located within the Meadows area of Nottingham City.  We have just over 4800 patient registered with us.  We are located 5 minutes’ walk from Nottingham Train Station and NET tram.

We are all an extremely friendly team, and work very well together.  We see NHS patients, and occasionally private patients.  All staff, including the GP’s and nurses, are very approachable.  We have an excellent, albeit small, administration and reception team, who deal with all our patients very effectively.

We are a forward thinking surgery, who strives to provide an excellent care to our patients, and we are always welcoming new patients to register with us, thus our list size is increasing.

About the Role:

We are looking for someone who will fit in with the existing team, work well together and has a can-do attitude.  You will be trained in both reception duties and administration duties and will rotate between them both.

Both roles require attention to detail and will involve speaking to patients both over the telephone and face to face.

You will learn all about electronic document flows from hospitals and various community services, how to process them and file them into patient records.  You will also be taught how to summarise paper records, produce requested medical reports and action tasks sent by the clinicians.  On top of that you will be fully trained on reception, to deal with patients over the telephone and in person, to order repeat prescriptions, register new patients and book patients into appointments.

An interest in IT and computer work would be an advantage, as the majority of the day will consist of using the computer – email, medical systems, text message services, online training  etc.

  • Answering the telephone – speaking directly with patients and other professionals
