Vacancy Description:

As Finance Assistant, you will be working alongside of an existing team of 3, reporting directly to the Management Accountant.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Processing both sales and purchase invoices onto our accounting system (Sage)
  • Archiving of invoices to maintain proper accounting records
  • Liasing with suppliers regarding invoice queries
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and ensuring suppliers are paid within the company’s payment terms
  • Ensure authorisation procedures for puchase invoices are followed
  • Process purchase order requests from throughout the business
  • Place purchase orders for office equipment, stationery and refreshments
  • Distributing post received into the finance department to the appropriate individuals
  • Processing payments and receipts into company bank accounts

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

GCSE A* to C in English and Maths – Essential

Business Studies and/or Finance at GCSE / A Level / BTEC -  Preferred

Some administration experience -  Preferred

Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel - Essential

Great communication skills - Essential

Training and Qualifications Delivered:

Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant or  Level 3 Assistant Accountant

Working Week and Salary:

Monday - Friday, 6 hours per day with 30 minute lunch

(Start and finish times can be agreed)

Total hours per week: 30

Wage per hour - £4.50

£50 per month bonus based on completing project work.

Weekly wage - £135

Good location, in Birmingham City Centre. Near the train station

Future Prospects:

This is an apprenticeship position with the opportunity of progression if you prove to be a valuable member of the team. Opportunity for pay increments based on performance indicators during the apprenticeship
