Level 2 or Level 3 AAT (Apprentice between 14 – 16 Months)

Location:             Scudamore Road, Leicester

Salary:  £5 per hour 

Working Hours and Days: Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm

Weekly Hours: 42.5

Weekly Wage: £212.50

Full Job Description:

Ideal opportunity for someone seeing an entry level position in Accountancy/Finance.

Role and Overall Responsibility:

Assist the accounts team in the production of timely and accurate management and year end accounts, working closely with all members of the team. Reporting directly to the Financial Director. 


  • Processing both sales and purchase invoices onto our accounting system (Sage)
  • Book receipt of goods into accounting system (CM50)
  • Archiving of invoices to maintain proper accounting records
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding invoice queries, to sort out queries
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and ensuring suppliers are paid within the company’s payment terms
  • Ensure authorisation procedures for purchase invoices are followed
  • Distributing post received into the finance department to the appropriate individuals
  • Processing payments and receipts into company bank accounts
  • Document accounting department procedures and policies and train as cover for key roles within the small department, e.g. payroll, CIS, VAT, bank reconciliation’s
  • Ad hoc project work

Qualifications Required and Desirable Experience:

  • GCSE A* to C in English and Maths – Essential
  • Business Studies and/or Finance at GCSE / A Level / BTEC - Preferred
  • Some administration experience - Preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel - Essential
  • Great communication skills - Essential

Skills Required:

  • Computer literate (experience with Microsoft Office essential)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Able to get on with tasks without being asked and without requiring constant supervision
