The largest entertainment venue in the East Midlands, the Motorpoint Arena National Ice Centre, are looking to fill a variety of Customer Service roles!

Based in Nottingham, the roles available are Retail Food & Beverage, Box Office Agent, Hospitality Food & Beverage Assistant and Merchandise Assistant.

Retail Food & Beverage Assistant

Your role will consist of supporting the existing catering team in ensuring excellence is delivered across all bars in our venue which includes the concourse bars, pop-up mobile units, floor bars, Encore, Sub-Zero, Saltbox bar & Bolero Square.

Job duties & responsibilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of customers
  • A keen eye for detail during service
  • To comply with Company & statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire & COSHH and to ensure that any hazards, issues, near misses & accidents are reported to your line manager at the earliest opportunity
  • Being polite and courteous
  • To maximise sales opportunities and ensure customer choice & value is enhanced by offering up-sell products and promotions
  • To ensure stock is replenished, shelves are full and merchandising is in place and in accordance with company standards
  • To carry out all till functions correctly, ensuring accuracy of cash, credit card and other transactions are completed in line with company procedures
  • To ensure all legal age sales are adhered to
  • To achieve the relevant performance targets within your area
  • To actively participate in any team meetings & training as required by sharing your knowledge & experience with other team members
  • To support the merchandise & hospitality teams when required on event nights
  • To support the off-site catering & merchandise teams when required on events
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager

Hospitality Food & Beverage Assistant

This role includes supporting the existing hospitality team in ensuring excellence is delivered across all hospitality areas in our venue which includes the Spotlight Restaurant, Bars & Suites.

Job duties & responsibilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of customers
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen eye for detail during service
  • To comply with Company & statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire & COSHH and to ensure that any hazards, issues, near misses & accidents are reported to your line manager at the earliest opportunity
  • Being polite and courteous
  • Understanding the food & drink menus
  • To maximise sales opportunities and ensure customer choice & value is enhanced by offering up-sell products and promotions
  • To carry out order taking including the use of written orders and/or electronic till & ordering systems
  • To issue bills & obtain payment for these
  • To ensure that they understand the responsibilities of responsible alcohol sales in relation to-
  • Selling alcohol to a person under 18 years of age
  • Knowingly selling, attempting to sell or allowing the sale of alcohol to a person who is drunk
  • To actively participate in any team meetings & training as required by sharing your knowledge & experience with other team members
  • Support with conference setup & delivery of catering as and when required
  • To support the merchandise & retail teams when required on events
  • To support the off-site catering & merchandise teams when required on events
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager

Box Office Agent

This role includes supporting the existing team to sell tickets through various channels for all events at the National Ice Centre and Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, including ice sports activities.

To provide the highest levels of customer service at all times and to undertake all necessary administration in relation to event ticket sales and sales of ice sports activities, including maintenance of the customer database.

Job duties & responsibilities:

  • To be the first point of contact for NIC and Motorpoint Arena customers, providing high levels of customer care at all times, dealing with a wide range of customer enquiries and being proactive in resolving issues.
  • The post holder will communicate with colleagues and customers alike in a friendly and positive manner, via telephone, email, social media and face to face.
  • Undertake any administration work necessary including ice sports bookings and development, invoicing, and fulfilment of ticket bookings.
  • Undertake stewarding roles, such as ticket scanning, directing customers to facilities and seating locations, and supporting with queue management as requested.
  • Support in the delivery of ice sports, through handing out ice skates and supervising ice sports activities as requested.
  • Process cash and card payments and take responsibility for reconciling payments processed.
  • Maintain customer and event databases, ensuring accuracy of data throughout.
  • Process bookings for all events, including group sales, Ice Sports at NIC using the booking systems provided.
  • Undertake any training or development work deemed necessary.
  • Keep fully informed of all events and activities taking place at NIC and Motorpoint Arena including pricing details and schedules, to offer accurate information to all customers.
  • Work proactively to maximise income for NIC and Motorpoint Arena including working towards financial targets.
  • Undertake other tasks or duties that may be allocated from time to time in keeping with the responsibility of the post.

Merchandise Assistant

The purpose of this role is to support the existing merchandise team to prepare the merchandise and merchandise units for each specific event along with using their skills to provide fast and accurate information to customers regarding the full range of merchandise available.

  • Provide a payment service for all event merchandise within the merchandise stands or hawking area, stock inventory and be jointly responsible for the reconciliation of all payments and floats after each shift.
  • To provide high levels of customer care at all times, be responsible for providing guidance and advice by using an adaptable style of selling to a wide range of customers along with solving merchandise related customer complaints.
  • To ensure that all merchandise is displayed to enhance sales.
  • To be part of a team, assisting colleagues when necessary, in addition to being able to work on own initiative.
  • To be able to work in different merchandise selling areas, inside and outside of the Venue/Site.
  • To assist in the promotion and publicity of merchandise, as directed by the Merchandise Manager.
  • To operate within the financial rules of the National Ice Centre.
  • To work towards the achievement of both financial and development targets within the Merchandising team.
  • To have the ability to work under pressure.
  • To be flexible and able to work an irregular working pattern.
  • The opportunity to support the National Merchandise around the UK in other venues & on music festival sites.

There are a variety of shift hours within these roles, ranging from part time, full time, flexible, various hours, weekends and weekdays.

The hourly wage for all roles available are National Minimum Wage.

There is both public transport to the site and car parking at the site.

Qualification:

  • Level 1 Customer Service
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene

Length of Study: 6 days

Teaching Method: Online remote learning
