CT Skills Apprenticeships in Accountancy are a great way to start your career. You’ll work side by side with industry professionals whilst working towards qualifications.

A career in Accountancy

Accountants play a vital role in organisations, making sure they have enough money to grow, as well as ensuring staff and suppliers are paid on time. Accountants also help to secure business deals, often acting as the go-between for different groups of people such as bankers, lawyers and tax authorities.

Accountants generally either work in an accountancy firm or practice or within a finance department of an organisation so it is possible to work in almost any industry!

The UK Average salary for a qualified accountant is £50,000 and you could expect perks such as: annual bonus, flexible working hours or a company car.

How & where will learning take place?

CT Skills use a blended learning model for AAT delivery which means that you will combine self-study in the work-place with classroom education to provide a flexible learning approach.

All CT Skills AAT apprentices will participate in weekly training outside of the workplace within our Nottingham, Derby or Retford training centres. This provides a unique opportunity to develop theoretical knowledge to compliment the practical knowledge, skills and behaviours learnt within your job role.

With more than two decades of experience as a training provider we can support you to invest in new talent and mould them into the culture and ethos of your organisation. We can also help develop existing staff to reach their potential and increase their own capacity and performance.

These apprenticeships are suitable for a variety of roles including:

Accounts Assistant/Clerk
Credit Control Clerk
Finance Assistant
Purchase Ledger Clerk
Sales Ledger Clerk
Trainee Accounting Technician
Assistant Accountant

**New Apprenticeship Standards include an independent End Point Assessment (EPA) that all apprentices must pass to complete their apprenticeship and confirm competence in their role. The EPA is an assessment of all the knowledge, skills and behaviours that have been learnt throughout the apprenticeship. The employer agrees with the tutor when the apprentice has completed all the required elements of the Standard (the Gateway criteria) and then the EPA is completed. The EPA organisation is independent and the apprenticeship certificate will only be awarded after the EPA is passed.
