During this Apprenticeship, participants will cover topics allowing them to develop skills and master complex financial processes such as; final accounts, reports and returns, spreadsheet use for accountants, VAT returns and professional ethics.

The UK Average salary for a qualified accountant is £50,000 and you could expect perks such as: annual bonus, flexible working hours or a company car.

16 Months

Within 16 months apprentices will be fully qualified as an Assistant Accountant. 

Combination Delivery

Delivery takes place 80% in the workplace, 10% classroom and 10% self study.

100% Pass Rate

100% of CT Skills L4 AAT learners achieve their qualification within 16 months.

What’s Included 

The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting offers technical training in accounting and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy and finance, and comprises of six mandatory units:

  • Advanced bookkeeping

  • Final accounts preparation

  • Management accounting: costing

  • Indirect tax

  • Ethics for accountants

  • Spreadsheets for accounting

The purpose of the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting is to provide learners with the specialist knowledge and skills required for progressing either to employment in an accounting or finance role or to enable progression to further study in accountancy and finance.

Entry Requirements

This apprenticeship is suitable for anyone who has completed a Level 2 Accountancy qualification or have a years’ experience in the industry. For those that don’t meet this criteria, we can embed Level 2 modules into your Level 3 qualification to get you up to speed!

Prominently as this level, employers are seeking individuals who are committed to a career in Accountancy and developing their skills.

Grade C/4 or Level 2 Maths & English qualifications

Prior industry relevant experience (support offered where absent)

A desire to work in Accountancy and commit to your education

Our Delivery

All CT Skills AAT apprentices will participate in weekly training outside of the workplace within our Nottingham, Derby or Retford training centres. This provides a unique opportunity to develop theoretical knowledge to compliment the practical knowledge, skills and behaviours learnt within your job role.

CT Skills Apprenticeships in Accountancy offer more than just a qualification while you work. Where possible all members of our Trainer/Assessor team have been recruited from the industry they are delivering on, meaning they are able to offer valuable insight beyond the modules and assessment criteria.

The Prospects

The Level 3 Advanced qualification will open up doors to roles such as an audit trainee, an insolvency executive, a payroll supervisor, or you can enter the industry through a host of other roles.

You may also decide to progress onto the final level of the AAT through the Accountancy level 4 apprenticeship.
