Bright Future ahead for CT Skills AAT Accountancy Apprentice

Case Study

Single Mum, Demi Green first came across the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Apprenticeship with CT Skills after leaving a job in recruitment to start a new role in administration with Nottinghamshire accountancy firm, Wyntax Consultancy Services.

Soon after starting her role, Wyntax saw the potential in Demi and knew she could one day become a qualified Accountant, so discussed a variety of courses and alternative ways of studying to see which one would best suit her needs in the business.

Demi explains;

“As I am a young single mum, most options were off limits, so after researching I decided that an AAT apprenticeship with CT Skills would be the best option for me. As they offered day release once every two weeks, so I could continue my busy role with Wyntax at the same time."

After contacting CT Skills and explaining her interests in the AAT apprenticeship, Demi began her Level 2 qualification which would enable her to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records, carry out cash register operations as well as safeguarding company assets, produce invoices and chase up any outstanding debts.

Demi continues;

“My tutor at CT Skills gave me so much more confidence in my work and she also helped to guide me through my Level 2 qualification, especially on the costing exam which I struggled with. I had to ring my tutor 5 minutes before my exam as my head was getting in a muddle and she helped me to relax and reminded me of all the work I had put in and why that meant I cannot fail."

Since completing her Level 2 qualification, Demi has moved on to her Level 3 with CT skills which once completed will progress her on to an Assistant Accountancy Level role with Wyntax.

Demi now has high hopes for her future, she explains;

“Anyone considering this course should definitely get on board as you are gaining life skills, meeting new people and once qualified you can work from home. This is highly appealing to someone like me as I can be a success and still nurture my young child. My role at Wyntax is going great and I could not ask for a better company to share this life changing experience with, they all help to develop my skills not just within accounting but general life too."
