Metropolitan Housing Praise Partnership with CT Skills

Case Study

Metropolitan Housing, one of the UK’s leading providers of affordable housing, care and support services has praised their successful partnership with CT Skills.

The housing firm provides support to over 71,000 customers across the country, including their office in Derby which CT Skills work very closely with.  They have a range of divisions which support their customers including Employment Officers who offer one-to-one career and employability advice, which will often lead them to referring them onto CT skills for further guidance and training.

Sarah Skidmore, Employment Officer commented on her relationship with CT Skills;

“I have been employed by Metropolitan Housing for nearly 2 years and have always had a positive working relationship with CT Skills since my start date. I have previously worked for other employment services and have always chosen to work with CT Skills.”

The partnership that Metropolitan Housing and CT Skills have formed, has enabled learners from across the East Midlands to make a huge change in their lives by gaining qualifications in popular courses such as IT, Functional Skills and Construction – making them employable to local businesses.

Sarah continues: “Together we strive to support customers in our communities; there has been a huge amount of customers who have been unemployed and have since progressed into work just by attending courses and the Sector Based Work Academy with CT Skills.

One key example would be from last year, I referred one of my customers to CT Skills, where they went on to gain a qualification in Customer Service. Upon completing the course I worked with CT Skills to help them find employment, they have since secured two part-time roles working within Customer Service which is of course a fantastic achievement for us. There should certainly be more providers like CT Skills.”

Terence Cooper, Learner Engagement Officer for CT Skills said;

“Working in partnership with Sarah from Metropolitan Housing has proven to be very easy and successful process which works both ways for referrals and signposting learners that need additional support in areas that CT Skills don’t specialise, for example SIA Accreditation.
