New Year Networking Success @admin News Traineeship Awards with Councillor John Handley When: 26th January 2018 Featured Guest: John Handley, Chairman Nottinghamshire County Council Where: Nottingham Learning Centre Alan House CT Skills started a successful 2018, with a New Year Networking event on 26th January at the Nottingham Learning Centre, Alan House. The unique event saw local business leaders and authorities including NFT, Wilmott Dixon and Nottingham City Council come together to hear more about the CT Skills’ Traineeship provision from current learners themselves. “It is always pleasing to see young people investing in their future and how CT Skills have turned, these young people lives around is amazing.” [siteorigin_widget class=”WP_Widget_Media_Video”][/siteorigin_widget] John Hadley, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council commented; “I was very impressed with what I saw and you and the team have a great deal to be proud of. It is always pleasing to see young people investing in their future and how CT Skills have turned, these young people lives around is amazing. With 100% of our past students in 2017/18 achieving either an employability qualification, functional skills or 100 hour work placement. The New Year Networking event was a great incentive for thriving companies to meet talented individuals across the Nottinghamshire area. [siteorigin_widget class=”WP_Widget_Media_Gallery”][/siteorigin_widget] Traineeship Manager and organiser of the New Year Network, Chris Dempsey was overwhelmed with pride “This is the first networking event of the year and it was a complete success. Since attending the event, two of our trainees, Megan and Alex have now secured permanent roles within NFT and a further eight of our learners have had interviews for work placement under our traineeship course secured. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this event and I am looking forward to many more in 2018.” Over 86% of employers said working with CT Skills and their traineeship programme, resulted in improvements within their organisation. All learners who undertake a traineeship gain specific qualifications, allowing them to access roles in their chosen workplace. The traineeships are approximately 12 weeks with 100 hours of work experience within the chosen industry.
