A leading company in the Midlands has praised CT Skills for the impact our training is having on their management team.
J. Tomlinson – a company that deliver integrated building solutions – have been working with us to provide their managers with opportunities to increase their skills set for the past year.
While there was initial scepticism about the need for existing management to undertake NVQs and apprenticeships, the whole team are now converted and believers in the benefits and outcomes.
Julian Webber is the head of learning and development for J. Tomlinson – who won the ‘Company of the year’ award at the 2017 Nottingham Post Business Awards.
He said: “We decided to work with CT Skills because our previous providers were not delivering to expectations. CT Skills seemed more willing to understand our needs and work with us to deliver suitable solutions for our business.
“Over the past year we have worked with [CT Skills] across a number of activities, most notably with Management NVQs / Apprenticeships. The delegates in question were existing managers but to whom management education was quite alien – some were willing to take part while others less so.
“We wanted to evidence competence to do the role but didn’t want a tick-box exercise, so CT Skills agreed to deliver a bespoke model based around the priorities identified by us.
“Their delivery of the workshops has been first-class, quelling the initial resistance almost immediately and really engaging our managers, as evidenced in both their confidence and competence as managers.”
