Anne Milton announced as new Skills Minister

Thursday, June 15 2017

Anne Milton MP has been announced as the new Apprenticeships and Skills Minister following the Prime Minister’s government reshuffle.
The decision was confirmed on Thursday after Theresa May and the Conservatives remained in power as a minority government after last week’s General Election.
As a large training and recruitment provider in the East Midlands, CT Skills works closely with a number of government departments and agencies to deliver their policies on employment and education.
Alex Ford, CEO of CT Skills said: “We are looking forward to working with the new minister as we enter a pivotal moment for the UK.
“The apprenticeship and skills agenda has never been so important as Brexit threatens to create a skills vacuum, productivity continues to trail other leading nations, and opportunities created by the apprenticeship levy are not being grasped by businesses.
“Further education is vital for the country both economically and socially.
“This is our third Apprenticeships and Skills Minister in 12 months so we urge Anne Milton to bring stability, clarity and investment into the British education system.”
Anne was elected as a Conservative MP for Guildford, Surrey in 2005 and has previously served in David Cameron’s government.
